Bethlehem Temple – Spanish Town

 Bishop E R Wood
Bishop Euriel R. Wood and Minister Hyacinth Wood

In 1966 Rev. Albert Reid, was inspired by the Lord and accordingly given a vision to build a House of worship in Spanish Town. The church accepted the challenge and the present site was identified. In May 1967 a building was opened and dedicated to the glory of the Lord and the service of the Spanish Town community.  This church is located at 27 Brunswick Avenue, Spanish Town, St. Catherine.

Then began the great task of Evangelism. Some were skeptical of the work and predicted failure, saying that Spanish Town was a “tough place.”  Rev. Reid and the brethren remained steadfast, knowing that God specializes in things that seem impossible. A series of street meeting campaigns were conducted from one area of Spanish Town to another, with much fasting and prayer. The Church experienced growth and development and the first three (3) additions of membership were in batches of seven (7), God’s perfect number. Thus twenty-one (21) persons were on their way rejoicing in King Jesus. To God be the glory.

The Church grew from strength to strength and Evangelist E. R. Wood was ordained the Pastor of the Church on the 30th day of April 1970. Join us at 27 Brunswick Avenue, Spanish Town, St.Catherine as we worship God in the beauty of holiness. A warm welcome awaits you!
