Calvary Temple – Linstead

The Linstead Branch of the Evangelical Church of Christ actually began in 1965 through the instrumentality of one Constable Campbell.  This work, which was first located at 10 Fletchers Avenue, Linstead was pastored by Pastor V. Kellinbeck and afterword by Elder Foster, who lived and worked in Montego Bay.  Missionary V. Hudson was asked to assume leadership because Elder Foster was unable to attend services.

In 1969, Elder Foster handed over the work to Overseer A. E. Reid.  In 1970 the first revival meeting that was held brought a rich harvest of souls.  Rev. Gerald Forbes pastored the church from 1970 to 1977 during which time the church experienced exceptional growth.  In 1977 the property at 28 Grove Road was purchased  and the church is still located on that premises todate.  Removal to this new location took place in February 1982.  Since 1983 to date the congregation has been led by Pastor Collin Woodham.
